Nature at your fingertips.

Located on seven hectares (17 acres) of naturally reforested lands, the beauty and inspiration of the outdoors is literally at your fingertips. Walking Trails

Vistas Cope hosts walking trails of varying length for guests to enjoy.  Trail Pepe runs straight down to river (10 minutes), winding back from the river to the eco-villa via lush forest, young orange and lemon trees and crossing a small stream (20 minutes). Trail Arturo runs along the river to a large rock that guests can jump off (15 minutes). Trail Joanna is the longest trail, running up behind the eco-villa and then circling down to the river (30 to 40 minutes). Combining the trails offers a beautiful hike of approximately one hour.

The trails around Vistas Cope are well marked, however the live-in caretaker Miguel is pleased to accompany you. We suggest this particularly for the longer circuit.

VIEW TREE VARIETIES

While Vistas Cope is not a commercial farm, the land does product oranges, lemons, papaya, mango, banana, plantains and pineapple.  The majority of the fruiting trees can be found down by the river - please feel free to enjoy the fruits if you are on property during the right time of year! Vistas Cope also provides guests with complimentary free range eggs for any meal from our chickens on property (subject to availability of the hens laying the eggs).

Rivers

Vistas Cope's star attraction on property is the nearly one kilometer of river bordering the property. River Colorado is a public river however the eco-villas location, fairly removed from main tourist trails, means guests nearly always have the river to themselves. A path runs directly from the eco-villa to the river, which you can explore for pools and mini-waterfalls. Note the depth of the river is approximately one meter.

The larger River Barrigon is also accessible from the properly. Exit the property and follow the path to the left at the gate which leads to a confluence where the river joins with a larger river, a perfect spot to swim, catch some sun or have a picnic. Both the Colorado and Barrigon rivers have a rocky bed, so we recommend plastic shoes so you can explore with more ease. At Vistas Cope we have inflatable inner tubes for guests to float along the rivers.
